51st Eagle River World Championship in the Books

It’s Tuesday night and hopefully everyone is home and recovered from the rush of activities that made up the 51st Annual Amsoil World Championship Snowmobile Derby.  Malcolm Chartier and his Chartier Motorsports team won their second consecutive World Champion title, with Matt Schulz and Travis MacDonald rounding out the all Ski-Doo podium.  Blaine Stephenson won four championship titles, which included Friday Night Thunder Formula 500, Limited 500, Limited 600 and his third consecutive Formula 500 win.  Sabrina Blanchet, of Quebec, was the lone female who attempted to qualify for the World Championship but didn’t make this years cut.  She did, however, get a third place finish in Friday Night Thunder’s Semi-Pro Champ class.  Fans saw Nick Dolezal and Tim Hibbard battle it out in the always entertaining Outlaw 600 class, with Dolezal winning during Friday Night Thunder and Hibbard taking the checkered on Sunday.  To see all the Derby results, visit their website.
